Have Antetokoumpo and Kidd turned Milwaukee Bucks into genuine playoff contenders?

Milwaukee Bucks can make their way to the play-offs, at least this term.

The Milwaukee Bucks along with the Minnesota Timberwolves represent the new age of Basketball.

Fast, Athletic and entertaining, these two teams have a very young core and an even brighter future. While the T’Wolves have been setting the Western Conference alight, it’s the Eastern conference team that looks poised for glory this year. The Bucks have transformed into one of the dark horses of the Eastern Conference and are riding a high wave at the moment. They have pulled off wins against both the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, and just fell short against the San Antonio Spurs.

Powered by the ever improving Giannis Antetokoumpo, the Bucks look a very dangerous outfit every time they step on the floor. With Matthew Dellavadova, Jabari Parker and Greg Monroe also in the mix, this team is looking very strong now. Ever since Giannis has taken over the ball handling duties this season, Milwaukee look a totally different team. Giannis has the size of a Power Forward and the ability and skill of a guard, which makes him an absolute nightmare. Very few players in the league are capable of doing what he does on a nightly basis, and there are not many players out there who can defend him.

Giannis is still very young, and has time on his side. He will only improve as the years will go by, and he will surely be one of the hottest properties in the league in the next couple of years. Not only can he handle the ball and shoot the three ball, he also has the ability to take the ball to the rim and finish strong. He is an equally good rebounder and defender and is a nightly triple double threat. With Jabari Parker providing excellent support, this young duo can take the Bucks to new heights, under the careful eye of Jason Kidd.

Kidd is widely recognised as one of the greatest Point Guards of all-time, and his basketball IQ and will to win are second to none. He was the original triple double machine of the modern NBA and it looks like he has passed on some of his trade secrets to Antetokoumpo now. Add to this fact that they also added Dellevadova to their side this off season, a former NBA champion and one of the hardest nuts to crack in the league. Dellevadova provides steel and defense and decent offensive output off the bench to the side, and his contributions can be invaluable come playoff time.

The Bucks look poised to make the playoffs at least this term, and if they can stay together and stay healthy, then this team can be genuine title contenders for years to come under the right guidance. Antetokoumpo is fast becoming a superstar of this league, and Jabari Parker can follow suit if he keeps working hard the way he is now. They are dark horses and under rated, but you take them lightly at your peril, as some of the best teams have found out already. They are not a team that is winning by flukes or chances, and are in fact the sort of team that can elevate their game for the playoffs and will be tough to beat over the course of seven games. They lack experience which can go against them in the crunch situations, but all good teams had to lose before they won.
