Manchester United are reportedly set to close on Ajax teenage sensation Daishawn Redan.
According to reports from Squawka, the Red Devils have won the race to the signature the striker who has been heavily scouted by a number of European clubs.
The 15-year-old has already appeared for the Dutch national team at youth level and has five goals in six appearances for the U17s side, including a hat-trick against Brazil Under 17s in a 3-0 win at the 2015 Nike Cup.
The teenager has been profoundly successful for Dutch youth sides, having joined the Dutch side at the age of eight years.
Manchester United have started to expand their scouting system in Holland in the course of the most recent one year and also signed another teenage sensation Tahith Chong from Feyenoord in the Summer and another highly rated youngster Millen Baars from Ajax.
Previous Ajax scout Henny De Regt, who now works for Manchester United’s academy, supposedly hailed up Redan’s potential. Regt was brought by former Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal and since then the Veteran scout has started to make his mark on the academy recruitment.
The player is a right footed forward who can operate in all the attacking third on the field, through the centre and as well as on the both wings effectively. The midfielder is also known for his ball holding and defensive attributes as he likes to take on players with the ball in his feet.
Ajax have tried to keep Redan in Amsterdam but the youngster is reportedly adamant for a move to Old Trafford.
In spite of Jose Mourinho’s disappointing history of giving chances to young players during his career, the Portuguese manager is accepted to be extremely excited with the Dutch genius in Manchester United academy.
If Manchester United can sign Redan it’s probably going to be no less than a year or two preceding he shows up in the first team and it could only go to strengthen the quality of the squad.
