What changes should you make to your Fantasy Premier League team?

0

We are in the busy period of the Fantasy Premier League extravaganza, and this is the first time when ten Premier League games will be played over two days midweek.

Top six teams in the league table – Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United – will be delighted that none of them are locking horns against each other. They should expect to win their respective fixtures easily. Among other teams, in form West Bromwich and Southampton will be facing Swansea City and Stoke City respectively; and both matches have the potential to be scintillating affairs for the Fantasy Premier League managers.

Here are the complete fixtures:

Injury Updates:

Leicester City custodian Peter Schmeichel is slowly coming around from his long term injury and is expected to feature in the next match. Among the defenders, Antonio Valencia, Craig Dawson and Danny Simpson are going to miss this week because of the suspension from fifth yellow card. Luke Shaw is still unfit and Shkodran Mustafi has a hamstring injury that will keep him out of action for the next few weeks.

Philippe Coutinho, Junior Stanislas, Santi Cazorla and Yannick Bolasie are all suffering from serious injuries and it is necessary to sell them out from the Fantasy Premier League teams as soon as possible. Other absentees are Duncan Watmore, Johann Gudmundsson and Jason Puncheon. The first two are not fit while the Crystal Palace midfielder is suspended for one match.

Up front, two biggest worries are the unavailability of Sergio Aguero and Charlie Austin. The former has been banned for four matches and will return only after December, while the Southampton striker is out injured for a long time. Vincent Janssen will also miss the fun for the next three weeks while Alvaro Negredo may return to Middlesbrough starting lineup this Thursday. Other first team players should be up and available for selection.

Tips and Suggestions:

Crystal Palace and Swansea City have been in a goalscoring spree of late. The Eagles scored 10 goals from their last three games while the Swans netted 7 times in last two home matches, separated by a 0-5 thrashing away at Tottenham. With the current form and some favourable fixtures in mind, Wilfred Zaha, Christian Benteke, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente may be the dark horses for this busy period in the league.

Among the top teams, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United will have some easy games leading up to the new year, and so, players from both ends might help the Fantasy Premier League managers. In particular, Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld, Kyle Walker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill, Marcos Alonso, Cristian Eriksen and Phil Jones should be the main men to target.

Arsenal will also get some cakewalks after their face-offs against Everton and Manchester City. We would advise you to stall for two weeks and buy some Arsenal hot shots like Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin after the City game. Pep Guardiola’s men, on the other hand, will have to bear with on and off difficult games in the upcoming weeks. Same can be said about Liverpool. And since both teams have showed inconsistent and unexpected drop in form, it might be wise not to have players from these two Premier League giants.

So far as the other teams are concerned, players from Southampton, Stoke City and West Ham might also be useful. Dimitri Payet, especially, can be real useful for any Fantasy Premier League team in this month. The Frenchman has always been appreciated for his impeccable skills and he has also returned to scoring in the last game. With easy matches on hand, he can rack up a lot of points in the next few weeks.

Fantasy Premier League captain:

Chelsea and Tottenham players are probably the best choices this week. If you have Costa, Hazard or Kane in your Fantasy Premier League team, feel free to make them your captain. Among others, Ibrahimovic, Eriksen or Mane can also help you move up in the ranks.
