Reliable French outlet Le Soir claim to have got hold of the contract details of many Belgium stars, which were handed over to them by the Football Leaks. Not only Belgium stars, there are some top notch English Premier League stars in the list as well, whose contract details and release clauses have been leaked to Le Soir.
First in the list was Tottenham centre back Toby Alderweireld, who, astonishingly has a €30million (£25.4million) release clause in his contract at Spurs, reveals the report.
Next on the list is Manchester City attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. Going by his contract, he earns just £115,000-a-week at the club, but has major bonuses and a fixed £7.7k raise in his weekly wages every year he stays.
Chelsea paid £28million (not £32.5million) for Eden Hazard back in 2012 according to documents leaked by ‘Football Leaks’ and revealed by Le Soir.
Another one is on Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino. According to Football Leaks, Firmino’s contract clause states Arsenal cannot buy Firmino for his buy out sum or any amount higher. Firmino has a huge buy out clause of 98million Euros, which can not be triggered by Arsenal.
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris receives a losing match bonus of €4000 and he gets a €8000 win bonus, according to Le Soir.
Reliable Belgian journalist and English Premier League expert Kristof Terreur says that Spurs say that none of their players have a release clause. He commented: ‘‘Knowing the journalist, he won’t make it up as they have a copy of his contract. So Le Soir have to clear it up.”
Football Leaks have revealed on Cristiano Ronaldo’s tax evasion too. Ronaldo reportedly diverted at least 150 million to a tax haven to hide image rights revenue, according to leaks’ documents obtained by German magazine ”Der Spiegel”. According to the report, he used three companies in Caribbean tax haven to collect his advertising revenue. The Spanish treasury have admitted to Spanish outlet Cope that they are planning to “perform inspections” into Ronaldo’s assets as a result of Football Leaks. So, the leaked documents must have some credibility.
The mission by Football Leaks is to uncover corruptions in football, they are using 60 journalists of 14 nations and are eyeing on 18million documents.
