Fantasy Premier League : Injury updates, tips and suggestions before Gameweek 14

All you need to know about the Fantasy Premier League before this Premier League weekend are here.

The first weekend of December, possibly the busiest month in the football calendar, is here and all the Fantasy Premier League managers are gearing themselves up to rack up a lot of points in this period. So, without further ado, let us take a look what are on our plates this week.

Two in form teams of the league, Manchester City and Chelsea, will lock horns in the curtain raiser of this Premier League weekend. Southampton, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool should not face any trouble to snatch three points from their respective games. But, in another big game of this week, Everton and Manchester United will face each other on Sunday and it would be a testing time for the visiting manager, for yet another setback would be the last thing a Red Devil would hope for. The full fixtures of gameweek 14 are given below.

Injury updates:

Without a shred of doubt, the biggest news is the unavailability of Liverpool talisman Philippe Coutinho. The midfielder, currently sitting in 29.1% Fantasy Premier League sides, will miss five to six weeks. His teammates Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino, however, should be fit to start against Bournemouth.

Among other attackers, Michail Antonio (WHU), Santi Cazorla (ARS), Johann Gudmundsson (BUR) and Dusan Tadic (SOU) will be out of action due to injuries. Wayne Rooney will have to serve a suspension. But, the Fantasy Premier League managers will be happy to welcome Dele Alli (TOT), Islam Slimani (LEI) and Joe Allen (STO) back.

So far as the goalkeepers and defenders are concerned, there are good news on most parts. Bournemouth duo Arthur Boruc and Charlie Daniels are back to full training, but their match fitness will be tested before the kick off and chances are high that both will make it to the starting eleven. Joel Matip (LIV), Jose Holebas (WAT), Danny Rose (TOT) are also expected to feature, despite injury worries. Manchester United reliable Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw are also back to training, but they will not be included in the first eleven. On the other hand, Hector Bellerin (ARS), George Friend (MID) and Toby Alderweireld (TOT) remain to be the only ones who would possibly sit yet another game out.

Tips and suggestions:

The most important decision for the Fantasy Premier League managers would be to find an able replacement for Coutinho. Considering the fixtures, we would suggest you to choose someone from Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool only. So, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Eden Hazard, Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane are some possible candidates. On the other hand, another wise decision would be to buy a cheap midfielder in place of Coutinho and invest that money to bring in a striker like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Harry Kane or Diego Costa; all being in top notch form of late.

Among the minows, Hull City, West Bromwich, Burnley and Stoke City will enjoy mostly comfortable fixtures in the coming weekends. Hence, budget friendly options like Matt Phillips, Robert Snodgrass, Salomon Rondon, Sam Vokes, Gareth McAuley or Joe Allen can come handy before the January transfer window kicks in.

Fantasy Premier League captain:

Considering the fixtures this weekend, Kane or Mane can be the best choices. If you do not have either of them, you can go with an unconventional choice of making a defender from Tottenham or Arsenal your Fantasy Premier League captain. Middlebrough’s Alvaro Negredo can also prove to be valuable, keeping in mind his recent form and the fact that he will be up against a weak Hull defense.
