Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to make a £40m offer with also a lucrative wage to tempt Adam Lallana for a move away from Liverpool.
Lallana has been key for Liverpool this season as they have established themselves as genuine title contenders under Jurgen Klopp, scoring three goals and providing five assists in 11 Premier League appearances. The former Southampton man also netted against Spain and Scotland in recent internationals to acquire the limelight.
The French champions, who have had a slow start to the season in Ligue 1, are said to be eyeing a £40m move for the 28-year-old, who joined the Reds for £26m in 2014. The reports also claim that claim Lallana’s weekly wage would be trebled to £200,000-a-week by French heavyweights PSG.
The French champions’ director of sport, Patrick Kluivert, is said to be very excited about Lallana and rates him to be the England’s best player.
Regarding the matter, a PSG insider said to the Sun: “Adam is seen as a player of real quality in the Premier League.”
“His age is not a problem as the club want the best players — and he is one of them.”
Lallana is currently sidelined through injury with a groin problem suffered in England’s International duty and have not started since then as his absence has been an issue for the Reds who will hope to have him back as soon as possible.
The high-flying Liverpool are currently second in the table with just one points off from the league leaders Chelsea and given how he has improved under Klopp, it would be a major blow to see him leave the club anytime soon.
However playing for PSG could be a massive step in the career of Lallana who can also offer him Champions League football but as the Reds are aiming to win the Premier League title this season, they would not be keen on losing Lallana in the middle of the campaign.
