Transfer news : Real Madrid interested in signing Arsenal superstar

Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid CF. According to the Sun, the Los Blancos are ready to splash a £25 million bid for the Arsenal midfielder. Madrid are hoping that Ramsey’s lack of opportunities at Arsenal will convince him to join Real in the transfer window.

Ramsey returned to football after suffering a hamstring injury against Liverpool FC in the first match of the Premier League season. In his absence Wenger has used the likes of Coquelin, Elneny and new signing Granit Xhaka in the midfield.

Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of Ramsey and is ‘extremely keen’ on the Arsenal player. Signing for the Spanish giants would also mean a re-union for Ramsey with fellow Wales international Gareth Bale. However, football pundit Guillem Blague told Sky Sports that there is “zero truth in this one” and he also believes with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos present in the ranks of Real, Ramsey would not fit their style of play and he certainly isn’t capable of doing the job of Casemiro.

Arsenal fans though seemed to be frustrated with Ramsey’s poor performance in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United in the Premier League. Ramsey, who was assigned to play on the left side, struggled throughout the first half of the match. Even though after gaining one point from the fixture, courtesy of Olivier Giroud, Arsenal fans took to social media networks to express their frustrations against Ramsey and co. and seemed to claim that “Real Madrid can have Ramsey for free.”

The 25 year old who joined Arsenal FC from Cardiff City in 2008 has made more than 250 appearances for The Gunners, as he enters his final 18 months of his contract with Arsenal and is yet to sign a new deal for Wenger’s men.

Ramsey, who prefers to play in a free role in the central midfield can benefit from a move to Los Merengues if Zidane decides to utilize the Euro 2016 star properly. Ramsey can combine well with Bale and provide more support to Ronaldo, Benzema and Morata. Real do have a lot of depth in midfield with Modric and Kroos being regular starters, when fit and talented midfielders such as Isco, James Rodriguez and Mateo Kovacic also have a lot to offer to Zidane and Real.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger though still remains a huge fan of the midfielder and will definitely be reluctant to let the midfielder leave.
