Yet another Premier League weekend is all set to kick off in fashion, with the high voltage fixture of Arsenal vs Manchester United. And as the north London side are getting prepared to welcome Jose Mourinho’s men, the home custodian Petr Cech has shared his opinions about the upcoming blockbuster.

While talking to Arsenal player, the former Chelsea man did not fail to admit that this fixture is always a big game, irrespective of where the two teams are on the league table. As a matter of fact, ahead of this important encounter, the home side are at the fourth position, while Manchester United are six points behind, reeling at the sixth spot in the Premier League standings. Naturally, an emphatic win will take Arsenal further up in the table. In fact, with three points from this match, they can temporarily go to the zenith and that is what the Gunners will be aiming for.

On the other hand, should United lose, they will lag further behind and that can potentially end their chances to challenge for the coveted title, even with more than half of the season to go.

Cech talked about this particular issue and said why a win from this game is immensely important for the visiting side. “If United want to think about closing the gap and having a chance to fight for the title, they need the three points,” he pointed out.

At the same time, the Arsenal goalkeeper addressed the importance of the game from his team’s perspective as well, especially in the wake of their draw from the last Tottenham game. “It is another six-point game,” Cech told. “We drew the match against Spurs and there is a little gap between us and Liverpool, so you want to make sure that you stay very close and that every time they drop points, you are ready to take advantage.”

The 34 year old further talked about the motivations and the strategies to come out with flying colours, “With United, they are behind us, so to leave them [further] behind is one aim and the second thing is to stay near the top, within touching distance of everyone else.”

“It is a big game for both teams and they will try to give themselves a chance, and we have to be ready to adapt to their way of playing. As the match goes, you want to impose your game and control what is happening.”

“This time I think it could be a really significant win for us and a really significant loss for them,” one of the most pivotal parts of the Arsenal side sounded really hopeful as he signed off.

With only hours to go, it remains to see whether Arsenal can defeat an inconsistent Manchester United side too easily. Let us know your predictions, in the comments below!
