Revealed : Manchester City players forbidden from having sex after midnight

New Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is known for discipline, hard work and uncompromising mentality since his days with Barcelona and later as Bayern Munich boss. However, a bizarre fact about him has been revealed by French midfielder Samir Nasri who is currently enjoying his football with Spanish outfit Sevilla, on loan from City.

In an revealing interview with L’Equipe du Soi, the 29-year former France international has claimed that Guardiola has refrained his players from having sex after midnight in order to avoid muscular injuries and advised them to have a good night sleep to keep themselves fresh enough for morning sessions.

“Those who want to have relations, it’s before midnight because you must have a good night’s sleep”

That the Manchester City boss told this on a free day was revealed by Nasri who also added:

“[Sexual] Relations must be before midnight. Even if you have a free day the following day. He did that with Messi, who since then was not injured muscularly, and Lewandowski, whom he had put on the bench at one point, and made him understand certain things.”

The former Marseille and Arsenal man was outcast by Guardiola during Manchester City’s first four games before being loaned to Sevilla due to overweight issues:

“When I arrived Guardiola told me that my weight should be 76kg. I had not weighed that since my time playing for Marseille because in the Premier League, there is always a plan to gain more muscle. He wants slim and physical players. I arrived with four more kilograms and with Guardiola, if you are overweight by more than 2.5kg, you cannot train with the team. I had to train on my own.

“I had several arguments with him and I had my doubts at the beginning, but in the end, I realised that he is a coach of the highest level. He made me reflect.”
