According to Italian publication, Corriere Dello Sport, AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and are set to move for the England international during next year’s summer transfer window.
Roma were also reportedly interested in Wilshere, but the Englishman opted to work his way back to full fitness and prove his qualities under Eddie Howe.
The England midfielder joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan from Arsenal toward the starting of the season and has recently suggested a permanent exit may be necessary to rebuild his career.
The 24-year-old has apparently left behind his persistent injury troubles and has turned into a lynchpin in Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth starting eleven. But the signings of Grant Xhaka and El-Neny may have sent him down the pecking order in the Arsenal Squad and to have more playing time the Arsenal youth can move out of the club permanently.
Speaking last week, the Englishman admitted his concern about Arsenal future.
He told The Sun: “Of course I love Arsenal but, if there comes a time when I have to leave, then I have to leave. It is difficult for me to say because of course I love Arsenal — I’ve had great times there and they have been great for me.
“And I can still see myself playing there as well but who knows what the future holds. I have got a year left when I go back there. At the moment I’m just trying to have a season that puts me in a good position at the end of the year. I have improved as a player and Arsenal want me back and then we will see where we go from there.”
Wilshere’s current Arsenal contract runs until 2018, and there has been no real news of a renewal till now and with the arrival of new rich owners Sino Sports-Europe, Milan could convince Wilshere with a lucrative contract to move away from England.
