Thus let us take a brief look at Francesco Totti’s top 10 goals in his career so far.

No. 10: AS Roma (1) vs Foggia (1) – Serie A, 1994

September 4, 1994 is definitely an iconic day for AS Roma and Totti himself. Then manager Carlo Mazzone decided to put Totti in the starting XI, and wearing No.9 Totti scored his first goal for the Giallorossi, receiving the ball in the box Totti swung his left foot beating keeper Francesco Mancini with a powerful and well placed shot and scoring his first AS Roma goal. Iconic.

No. 9: Italy (1) vs Australia (0) – FIFA World Cup, 2006

This is probably one of the most anticipated goals’ in World Cup history. Italy were awarded a penalty after a foul on Fabio Grosso inside the box by Australia’s Lucas Neill, the decision was a bit harsh by the referee but up stepped Francesco Totti who came off the bench earlier in the bench. Under immense pressure with the clock ticking down, Totti kept his calm and converted the spot kick in the 94th minute to earn the victory for the Italians.

No. 8: AS Roma (1) vs Juventus (0) – Serie A, 2013

Roma and Juventus have a lot of history in Italian football, this particular fixture has seen some of the best goals in Serie A over the years and one of them came from Roma captain Francesco Totti back in 2013. The Giallorossi captain rolled back the years with his thunderous 25 yard strike which found the left corner of Juve’s goal and legendary Bianconeri keeper Gianluigi Buffon had absolutely no chance.

No. 7:  AC Milan (2) vs AS Roma (2) – Coppa Italia, 2003 (Second Leg)

The 2003 Coppa Italia final was pretty much a one sided affair after Milan thumped Roma by 4 goals to 1 in the first leg, and it all came down to the second leg. Totti once again proved why he is considered one of the best even from deadball situations when he scored a thunderous free kick. It was powerful and flew over the wall, curling away from Milan keeper Christian Abbiati and into the net. Totti bagged all 3 goals for Roma in both the fixtures, all from deadball situations.

No. 6: AS Roma (2) vs SS Lazio (2) – Serie A, 2015

With two goals in this match Totti helped his team salvage a point against arch rivals Lazio in the Rome derby. However, one of those two goals remains one of the best goals ever scored by Totti. After a good cross into the box by Jose Holebas, Totti acrobatically volleyed the ball into the net to equalize for his team and then followed it up with a perfect celebration when he clicked a selfie with the Roma fans.

No. 5: AS Roma vs Parma – Serie A, 1998

As legendary goalkeeper Gigi Buffon said this was the best goal someone has ever scored against him. It was during Buffon’s time at Parma that Totti scored this magical left footed chip after making his way into the box and catching Buffon off guard, Totti chipped the ball over Buffon’s head. Buffon later stated that this goal made him “angry”.

No .4: AS Roma (2) vs Udinese – Serie A, 2000

Another great volley goal to add to Francesco Totti’s collection. Totti raised his arm, ran and made his way into the box and hit a perfect timed volley with his left foot after the receiving a great cross from outside the box.

No. 3: SS Lazio (1) vs AS Roma (5) – Serie A, 2002

A perfect derby win for AS Roma was capped off with a brilliant lob by Francesco Totti. Roma who were leading 4-1 at the time and scored a 5th goal courtesy of Totti, who chipped the ball from outside the box beating the out of position Lazio keeper with ease.

No. 2: Sampdoria (2) vs AS Roma (4) – Serie A, 2007

This was one of the finest volley’s in football history. After receiving a long ball from Cassetti, the charismatic striker didn’t waste any time and hit the ball first time with his weaker left foot and buried the ball in the far post, and all of this with his weaker left foot at the age of 30.

No. 1: Inter Milan (2) vs AS Roma (3) – Serie A, 2005

This goal definitely stands out from the rest of the lot. Inter were on the attack to score an equalizing goal, after winning the ball in the halfway line and dribbling past two defenders Totti turned himself inside and chipped the ball over the Inter Milan goalkeeper from outside the box much like he did against Lazio in 2002 but in this case Totti had to cover half of the pitch and he finished it with an amazing lob. Totti also later stated that this goal as one of his three all time favorite goals.
