Cesc Fabregas’s Chelsea career could be over very soon after London rivals West Ham United expressed an interest in signing the midfielder on loan in January when the Premier League transfer window reopens.
The Spaniard has fallen out of favor under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge as the 29-year-old has made just four Premier League appearances this season, only one of which has been as a starter.Fabregas last appearance came in the 3-0 derby defeat by his former club Arsenal.
Since the defeat, Fabregas has not started a single match in the league and Chelsea’s form has reached a peak as the Blue have not conceded a single goal after that and scored a stunning 16 goals meanwhile.
Conte’s switching the formation to 3-4-3 has made the Spaniard left out of the first team and the midfielder is now convinced to leave Stamford Bridge in an effort to play more regular first-team football. According to the reports, West Ham are ready to submit an audacious loan bid in the transfer market to land the midfielder in London Stadium who still has three more years left on his contract. The Blues are also ready to subsidize Fabregas’s £160,000-a-week wages in order to move him out in January with a permanent transfer expected to happen at the end of the season. Fabregas is the third highest paid in the Chelsea squad after Eden Hazard and Diego Costa.
Antonio Conte is focused on adding more big names in January and offloading the deadwood. Fabregas could be first of many players who could leave the Blues in January as Jon Obi Mikel and Branislav Ivanovic also expected to leave after dropping down the pecking order under the Italian.
On the other hand, Fabregas could be the replacement of West ham star who said that he could leave the club in January for a better prospect and new challenge.
