VIDEO : Goal of the week from Premier League gameweek 11

Gameweek 11 saw 36 goals in the Premier League. Liverpool went top with a thumping 6-1 win over Watford. Chelsea were not far behind. They beat Everton by five goals. Manchester United came back to winning ways with a 3-1 win over struggling Swansea while Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham all drew.

Liverpool and Chelsea were playing some scintillating football and scored some brilliant goals. No wonder these two teams have dominated our list of the Premier League top goals. Actually, it is difficult to rank those goals. Still, here are our top 5 goals of this week.

Special Mention:

Pedro vs Everton:

Pedro was often criticized for not delivering performance in the match despite being talented. But under Antonio Conte, he is playing in top form. He is scoring and assisting regularly. His goal in the 5-0 thrashing of Everton was a reward for his performance. The buildup was more brilliant than the goal. Diego Costa turned brilliantly and skilled past a defender to find Eden Hazard. His shot was saved but Pedro was there to put the ball into the empty net. But from the beginning the movement was awesome. Much credit to Diego Costa but Pedro was at the right time in the right place.

Top 5 Premier League goals of the week:

5) Paul Pogba vs Swansea:

Paul Pogba is currently the most valuable player in terms of transfer money. But he was not justifying the price tag. However, he scored a superb goal against struggling Swansea to stop his critics. The ball fell to him on the edge of the penalty box and he took a brilliant volley to score the first goal of the match. Manchester United fans surely want much more of the same kind.

4) Gini Wijnaldum vs Watford:

It was a bit same like Pedro’s goal. The buildup was excellent more than the goal. Daniel Sturridge took a quick corner. Youngster Ejaria’s brilliant backheel was sandwiched between two wall passes of Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino. And finally Sturridge’s shot was well held by the Watford goalkeeper but Gini Wijnaldum was there to control and score his first goal for The Reds. Brilliant display! If Daniel Sturridge could score, it might be higher in the order. Still, that was a brilliant team goal for Liverpool.

3) Sadio Mane vs Watford:

Sadio Mane scored twice against Watford. But his first goal was better of those two. It started from a short corner from Coutinho! The Brazilian got the return ball from James Milner. Then he drilled a cross with some power. Sadio Mane scored from the outside of the goal to the second post. Mane first lost his marker then he headed the ball home. The header was not easy. The goal was on his behind. The cross was a bit below his head and a bit more power on that. But he made it look very easy.

2) Phillipe Coutinho vs Watford:

Phillipe Coutinho is playing his best football at the moment. He scored another beautiful goal against Watford. After some exquisite linkup play, Roberto Firmino found his Brazilian compatriot. Coutinho’s first touch was heavenly which made him free from the defender. Then he took a shot from outside the box which goalkeeper had no chance to stop. He is truly making marks in every game now.

1) Eden Hazard vs Everton

This should definitely be the best goal of the Premier League gameweek 11. Eden Hazard is one of the most in form players in the Premier League. He scored twice against Everton. But his second one has earned our best accolades. It may be one of the best goals of the season so far. Pedro’s brilliant backheel found Hazard who danced through into the box. Everton defenders did not challenge and the Belgian took full advantage by taking a low shot with his left foot. There were twenty five odd touches in the buildup of the goal and it is difficult to describe it in words. It should only be watched.
