Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has admitted he has plans to become one of the five best best players in football world in near future. Reportedly, the PFA player of the year 2015-16 has missed out from the shortlist for this year’s Ballon d’Or following a season worth of his nightmare in 2015-16.
Hazard has been on the top of his from this season in the premier league so far scoring 7 goals, which includes a brace in Chelsea’s 5-0 victory over Ronald Koeman’s side Everton on Saturday. The Belgian has been shifted to a new position under the management of new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
After the victory, Hazard said that he is aiming to be one of the World’s Bests, admitting that he was not up to the mark in the last season, “Last season I was not good, so for me it was normal that I was not on the list. But I want to come back on the list, and give everything to be on the list, not to be in the top 23 but to be in the top five”. “Yes, I want to reach that level”, he added.
He mentioned, “Last season was difficult for me. I tried to be the same player that I was two years ago”. Reportedly, the 28 year old Belgian international has netted for only four times last season. “But now I am trying to play like when I was a kid. I am enjoying playing now, my position is a bit different from before, I go inside more. It gives me more freedom, and I’m good for the moment”, Hazard replied. Previously, under different managers in Chelsea, Hazard used to play in the wing positions, which had let him play far away from the box. But Conte has switched him to free roaming player in the attack, which has been providing lot of strength in Chelsea attacking force.
The reborn Chelsea attacker has also hailed his newcomer teammate Marcos Alonso, “Conte has not changed a lot, it is just that I have a little bit more freedom, when we have the ball or don’t have the ball. Because I don’t need to defend against the right-back, because he (Marcos Alonso) is there. I just focus on staying in my position”. Since Conte has switched to the new 3-4-3 formation, the Spanish defender is having massive impact on the game. Providing stability in defense, he also helps Hazard in attack. “And when I have the ball, I have more freedom and I can go where I want to go, and it helps me to be decisive”, claimed Hazard.
Hazard has been showing his determination of his words in his game from the very early of the season as he already has won the Premier League Player of the Month award on August this season. With this kind of form, he can definitely let his dreams come true.
