Transfer Rumour: West Ham star may quit the Club in January

Dimitri Payet doesn’t want to leave West Ham in the upcoming transfer window but hasn’t dismissed out a move from the London Stadium soon.

West Ham bought Payet for £10.7m in June 2015 on a five-year contract. In February 2016 he marked another five a half year contract worth up to £125,000 per week after his amazing display. The playmaker proved to be an exciting inclusion for the Hammers since his landing in the club, scoring 15 goals in his first season in England.

But this year West Ham have made an awful beginning to the campaign, winning only three of their initial 11 matches and as of now just sit four adrift over the drop zone. This havoc downfall has started fears that Payet could soon decide to leave the club for a better prospect when the new window starts.

French channel TF1 on a live TV meet he was asked whether he would leave West Ham this winter.

And he said: “Leave West Ham this winter? I am asking myself other questions, but I don’t close the door to anything”

“Until now, I always chose my clubs depending on the sports project. I work like that. Until I can play at a level like this, it will be the case.”

The playmaker was also questioned if he fancies a move to French league side Marseille or Paris Saint-German. And he said: “For now, [PSG and Marseille] have not come to me, so I do not ask myself.”

The West Ham United midfielder, who was also one of the standout performers of the European Championships in the summer, missed the starting couple of weeks due to knee injury yet has been the Hammers’ sparkling player since his arrival.Payet has scored only one goal in the league this year with a brilliant run and execution against Middlesbrough but he’s been as innovative as ever with 39 chances delivered for the Hammers.

It’s difficult to point the finger at Payet for a new challenge as West Ham have been horrendous the year. They as of now sit in sixteenth place after a draw at home to Stoke yesterday. That is a long way from where Hammers fans and Payet thought they may complete the year.
