Jose Mourinho has taken over the charge of Manchester United, following a forgettable campaign from the side under the stewardship of Louis Van Gaal. And now, United are all ready to start their journey for the next season by sealing two new deals with their two promising youngsters – Marcus Rashford and Cameron Borthwick Jackson.

After lots of speculations and talks, Van Gaal was shown the door by the United board and Jose Mourinho was appointed as the new boss. While the former Chelsea manager got huge support from the United fans after the news broke out, a section of the club’s followers has been skeptical about his policies. The main concerns about the Portuguese are his defensive style of play that is not at all natural for United and the possibility that he would not give enough chances to the youth academy players, which also goes against the club’s age old tradition.

However, it seems that the new gaffer is going to put the second concern to bed with his first signings of the season.

In 2015/16, many young players got their breaks under Van Gaal. The Dutchman always favoured young talents and they returned the trust by and large. Cameron Borthwick Jackson, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Tim Fosu-Mensah, Paddy McNair, Guillermo Varela are some of the names who played their parts for the senior team and did not disappoint. The first two, in particular, were revelations for the side and now, they are going to be get the rewards.

Borthwick Jackson got his first opportunity when the first team left backs, Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw, got injured. The youngster took the chance really well. His defending, runs down the flank and his inch perfect crosses earned him accolades from several former players and the pundits. He was also named United’s Under-21 Player of the Year and the fans wanted to see more of him the next season.

The left back’s deal, however, was due to expire this summer. But now, the club are ready to offer him an extension and he would surely accept this deal.

On the other hand, Marcus Rashford has been another sensation this season. He was included in the starting lineup when Anthony Martial got injured during the warmup before the Europa League game against FC Midtjylland. Rashford was off to a flying start to his senior career right away, scoring two goals against the Danish club. He scored another brace in the next game, in his first Premier League outing against Arsenal.

In total, the youngster scored 8 goals from 18 games and showed huge promises to thrive well in the top tier. Rashford also earned a call to the England national side and he scored his first international goal against Austria on Friday.

Because of this impressive performance, the Old Trafford side were expected to offer him a new deal. Rashford has the potential to be the main striker for his side and the club management would not leave any stone unturned to keep him. And recent reports suggest that the young striker is looking to a new five-year deal worth more than £20,000 a week.

According to Manchester Evening News, both the deals are understood to have been agreed upon in principle. The club will probably make an official announcement coming week. While these two deals do not readily reveal the new coach’s intentions, it certainly ensures that he is going to include the youngsters in his plans.
