Transfer window is about to open and Liverpool are in a tricky situation right now. Jurgen Klopp is not a big fan of winter transfer window.
Klopp has faith in his boys and thinks they can find rhythm and consistency in the second half of the season which will lead them a decent finish.
Liverpool have already agreed a £5.1 million deal with Serbian league toppers Red Star Belgrade for their young prodigy Marko Grujic. Klopp personally volunteered the transfer as he and his assistant Zeljko Buvac were aware of his potentials. Grujic is expected to arrive at Merseyside within the 1st week of January. After signing for Liverpool, he will be loaned back to his current club for the reminder of the season. He will rejoin with Liverpool after completion of the loan period.
There were speculations of Neven Subotic, Leroy Sane, Steve Mandanda, Joel Matip and many more in last few weeks. Three new names came into picture since yesterday. Though the previous ones were well established names in world football, these three names are not so familiar in football circuit.
According to some sources in Germany, Klopp is interested in signing Filip Kostic of VFB Stuttgart. He has impressed Klopp during his time in Bundesliga and Liverpool are short of wide players, (Rookie Jordon Ibe is the only available winger as Lazar markovic is out on loan to Fenerbahce) which might trigger the move for the young Serbian winger.
The next name is more unfamiliar. Ghana Web claimed that Liverpool are front runners to sign Ghanaian centre-back Daniel Amartey, who plays for current Danish Superliga leaders FC Copenhagen. The 6′ tall 21 year old youngster has already been subject of top European interests according to his agent. Though he has not mentioned any name, Liverpool are expecting stiff competition from Bundesliga sides Schalke and Wolfsburg along with some French clubs. Last time a player moved to Liverpool from a Danish Superliga side was Daniel Agger (Brondby), who proved to be one of the cult heroes and long term warrior of Liverpool football club.
Last but not the least, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is considering a £4 million bid for Leicester’s England under-20 international Ben Chilwell, according to The Telegraph. The highly rated left back is currently on loan to Championship side Huddersfield Town and was a subject of interest for Arsenal who had a £3.5 million offer rejected in the summer. Jose Enrique is expected to leave anytime soon. Jon Flanagan has not been offered a new contract and is yet to feature for the senior team after missing more than a year and half due to knee injury. The addition of Chilwell might increase the much needed squad depth for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
