Manchester United seem to be in serious trouble as they have not managed a single win in their last eight fixtures in all competitions ( D4,L4). Can Felipe Anderson do it for Manchester United this time?
Louis Van Gaal and his style of football has created a lot of controversies for last couple of months. They are lacking to create enough chances to score and playing so many futile sideways and back passes. As a result, the manager is facing a lot of criticism from the pundits and stick from the fans.
In order to create more chances from midfield, the management have already started searching for options. Felipe Anderson, the Lazio midfielder, is being scouted by them for quite some time now. The 22-year old Brazilian attacking midfielder was a subject of interest in last summer too but Lazio held firm and kept hold of their €45 million asking price way above United’s valuation.
Anderson had 106 senior appearances for Santos. In 2013, Serie A side Lazio bought him for €7.8 million. Since then he has been a regular performer appearing 76 times and scoring 17 goals for them so far. He scored 11 goals and assisted 7 times in his 37 appearances last season and already scored 5 in 17 outings in this years’ campaign.
Manchester United are determined this time and they are eyeing a return for him once again. A £33 million bid is being prepared to rope in the highly rated number 10 who can score, assist and create chances. Considering the poor run of form of Lazio, the United management is hopeful of securing his services this time by matching his valuation.
When another Brazilian Anderson joined United in 2005, he just managed 5 goals in 105 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit. In the end, the talented midfielder turned out to be a Premier League flop and had to move to Serie A in stead.
