Liverpool, Swansea and Southampton are back to the winning ways, whereas Chelsea lost a golden chance to climb up the table and Arsenal could not count on Leicester’s loss at Anfield. Manchester City thumped Sunderland to 4-1 victory, courtesy to Kevin de Bruyne’s amazing effort and their loud neighbours fell for their fourth straight loss to a pumped up Stoke. Everton were rescued by Tim Howard once again and Crystal Palace settled for a single point against Bournemouth.

There have been some terrific performances, inspiring moments on the Game Week 18 which lead few players to our team of the week.

Goalkeeper :
Tim Howard : This veteran was instrumental under the bar for the Toffees as they clinged onto a slim lead of 1-0 in the final minutes of the game against Newcastle who were on a winning streak. The save from Howard in the dying moments turned the game in their favour and crucial 3 points on boxing day

Defender:

Cuco Martina :
Inspirational in the defense and shut down Theo Walcott on the left flank. His screamer or belter (whatever you like to call it) is also featuring on our goal of the week list. He stooped Arsenal’s attack even before it started which gave him the spot in the team of the week.

Fonte :
After few bad games at a stretch, Fonte again lead the Saints defense to a clean sheet against the Gunners. His header put the game to bed for Southampton as they lead for 3-0.

Dejan Lovren : What a story this has been! The best Red defender in this season dominated the box and put Vardy and Ulloa in the back pocket. Under Klopp, the Croatian really proved his 20 mil price tag’s worth.

Cresswell : He was instrumental in the defense as well as solo scorer on the team sheet. His solo goal in the injury time of the first half gave Hammers the lead.

Midfield :
Marko Arnautovic :
This lad is playing on the top of his game for a long time. His screamer gave Stoke a 2 goal cushion against a feeble Manchester United and had it not been de Gea under the bar, it could have been a brace or even a hat trick for him.

Moussa Dembele : The strong Belgian may not feature on the score sheet, but was dominating with pressing through out the game which gave Spurs a three goal victory at White Hart Lane.

Kevin de Bruyne :
He proved himself to be the second best playmaker in the EPL. Two assists and a goal from the crafty Belgian proved to be the difference between Sunderland and Manchester City.

Forwards:

Diego Costa : The Spaniard is back to the scoring sheet after a drought and scored his first brace since January which gave the Blues a necessary one point at the Stamford Bridge.

Shane Long :
Tireless effort from him was complemented by a well deserved two goals against mighty Peter Cech.

Harry Kane : The goal scoring boy is on a roll and so his side is. His cool headed finish from the spot and a clinical drive to the bottom corner of the net gave an indomitable 2-0 lead to Spurs.
