Manchester United Transfer Goals: Senegalese Midfielder, Japanese Striker and English Defender

Manchester United are again looking for a high investment transfer window as they desperately look to improve their goal-scoring form.

The Red Devils managed to score only 22 goals from their 17 Premier League matches, 15 less than table-toppers Leicester City. They can boast of the best defensive display in the division though. But, goals win you matches and sadly, Van Gaal’s boys are finding it hard to get them.

After Jose Mourinho got sacked, Van Gaal is not feeling secure either. Reports are coming out that, the Dutch manager has received a final ultimatum from the management already. If he fails to take all three points from Britannia stadium Saturday, Mourinho is ready to take charge of things at Old Trafford.

Wayne Rooney found the net twice this season and recently admitted that he was not playing well. Anthony Martial is not helping the cause either as the promising youngster is still not ready to lead the attack.

In last summer transfer window, Manchester United tried to lure Sadio Mane away from Southampton but the Senegalese winger eventually stayed at St. Mary’s. As the Saints are also struggling to get going this season, it will be difficult for Van Gaal to purchase Mane in January. It, rather, looks like a deal that could go through at the end of the season.

One surprise name that has come up now is Yoshinori Muto. The Japanese striker was linked with Chelsea last summer but he turned down a five year contract from the Blues to choose Mainz in stead. Since then, 23 year old Muto has scored 7 goals in 15 appearances – a much better stat than either of United strikers. According to The Guardian, the Bundesliga forward has become one of the main Manchester United transfer targets now.

The Manchester side have not lost interest in John Stones who can complement Smalling perfectly. But, to take this deal all the way, they will have to do away with challenges from Chelsea and Arsenal.
