As it happened : WWE TLC 2015 Takeaways

0

Last Month, the Survivor Series was a very disappointing PPV event. After that, WWE TLC 2015 produced some good matches including the ladder match.

But there were a couple of talking points too. Banks vs Lynch should be in main card. Some superstars like Barrett, Ziggler, Breeze, and Neville did not feature in the main card. That was quite disheartening. Overall it was a nice PPV. The finish was also great.

Match No.1: Sasha Banks Vs Becky Lynch (Pre Show)

Build-Up:

There was not any build-up. Team BAD and Team PCB were feuding each other for months and their respective members Banks and Lynch were announced to face each other in the Pre-Show

Review:

It was a decent match. Unfortunately these two divas were not in the main card. They should be booked well, especially Banks.

Match No.2: The New Day © vs The Usos vs The Lucha Dragons triple threat Ladder Match for the tag team championship

Build-Up:

The Usos and The Lucha Dragons squared off to face The New Day. But they attacked the formers in between the match causing double disqualifications. Later, Stephanie Mcmahon added both teams to face The New Day in a triple threat ladder match for the tag team championship.

Review:

What a start to the pay-per-view! Some brilliant moves along with some really entertaining spots were there. But among all, the Samurai Del Sol of Kalisto of the ladder was not only the best spot of the match, but also one of the best spots in the ladder matches history. New Day retained the title. The expectations became higher after this match. Eventually, it was the best match of this PPV and one of the best in recent memories.

Match No.3: Rusev Vs Ryback

Build-Up:

Rusev and Ryback met twice in the ring after the return of Lana. One of them ended double count-out and in other match Ryback won by countout. So they were scheduled to face in the pay-per-view.

Review:

It was very disappointing after that kind of start of the show. It was not so interesting and an expected one. Ryback showed some aerial moves but at the end the match it proved unnecessary. Ryback passed out in Accolade of Rusev.

Match No.4: Alberto Del Rio © Vs Jack Swagger Chairs Match for the United States Championship

Build-Up:

At Hell in a Cell, Del Rio returned to the company and won the US Championship from John Cena. He then started a confrontation with Jack Swagger and he attacked Swagger with chairs shot in the last raw before TLC. So they were scheduled to face in a Chairs match where US title was on the line.

Review:

It was a better one than the previous one. Some chair shots were exchanged between them and Del Rio’s double foot stomp on swagger on the chair is a really good moment. More or less, the match was average. As expected, Del Rio retained the title.

Match No.5: The Wyatt Family Vs Team ECW Elimination tag team tables match

Build-Up:

The Wyatt Family and The Dudley Boyz exchanged victory against each other. Then The Dudley Boyz were attacked by The Wyatts. Then First Tommy Dreamer and then Rhyno Joined The Dudley Boyz to make it a 4 on 4 elimination tables match. There was a decent build up.

Review:

It was a solid match. The Wyatts need that win so that they looked strong after their defeat against Brothers of Destruction in Survivor Series. The ECW originals put over them with a good match. The audience witnessed some hardcore actions. The only mismatch in this match was Bubba mot lighting the table. Rowan was the only member of The Wyatts to get eliminated.

Match No.6: Dean Ambrose Vs Kevin Owens© for the Intercontinental Championship

Build-Up:

Dean Ambrose beat Kevin Owens in the Semi Final of WWEWHC tournament back in Survivor Series. This was the beginning of the feud. Then Ambrose beat Ziggler and Breeze beat in a triple threat match to become the number one contender of the IC championship. They had some mind games heading the PPV.

Review:

This was a fast entertaining brawl between them. Owens is an accomplished good wrestler and Ambrose coordinated with him very well. In the end Ambrose won the title. It was very good for him as he became the sidekick of Reigns. We can expect another good rematch between them.

Match No.7: Charlotte© Vs Paige for the Divas Championship

Build-Up:

Charlotte beat Paige in Survivor Series. Paige thought that she was cheated so she demanded a rematch which ended in double count out. So another match was set up. Charlotte’s father Ric Flair was also involved in this feud as he was slapped by Paige.

Review:

Charlotte used some dirty tricks to win the match. She may adopt it from her father. Will she turn heel? Let’s see. A decent match it was.

Match No.8: Sheamus© Vs Roman Reigns TLC match for WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Build-Up:

The best built feud of the TLC is between Sheamus and Roman Reigns. Roman beat Dean Ambrose for the vacant WWEWHC in the Survivor Series. Then Triple H caused some distraction which allowed Sheamus to attack him and cash-in his Money in the Bank contract. He became the WWEWHC and the very next night on raw Reigns won against Sheamus via disqualification. So a TLC match was set up for them.

Review:

It was better match than expected. Sheamus retained the title due to the interference of League of Nations. Reigns then went rampaged against all of them and Triple H. It was a good ending to the PPV.
