Bournemouth vs Manchester United : Highlights, Match stats and a review

Beyond doubt, Bournemouth vs Manchester United clash has put Louis Van Gaal’s Premier League dreams at stake. The Cherries defeated Chelsea last week and they continued their good form today. Louis Van Gaal had to suffer from the injuries. Especially, he must have felt the absence of Chris Smalling in the central defense.

The match started well and the home team took the lead only in the second minute. It was an amazing Olympic Goal from Junior Stanislas that put Bournemouth ahead. Stanislas also had David de Gea at his mercy a few minutes later, but the goalkeeper got the better of the one-on-one situation. Towards the other end, Anthony Martial almost had the break but his shot went a yard wide. Finally, Marouane Fellaini restored parity at the 24th minute. It was a hustle in the Bournemouth box after Memphis Depay took a weak shot at the goal. Fellaini tried his luck on the rebound and after some jostle with Boruc and two defenders, he sent it home.

Manchester United had a blow in the 31st minute when Jesse Lingard was limped off the field. Youngster Pereira came in place of him. The action-packed first half saw many attacks but it remained level at 1-1 at the break.

And once again, early in the second half, the home team capitalized on another corner. This time, Joshua King converted the opportunity and scored to give his team a welcome 2-1 lead. In the end, the strike from the ex Manchester United player proved to be vital.

Louis Van Gaal brought in two changes in the second half in the form of Nick Powell and Phil Jones. But, they were unable to get a breakthrough and Bournemouth vs Manchester United ended 2-1. The newcomers to the Premier League are certainly enjoying a nice time.
