Liverpool vs Newcastle : Highlights, Match stats and a review

It was a bad day at the office for the Reds and like the last season they were very poor at the St. James Park. Liverpool were never in the game and never found their footing. As a result they lost 2-0 to Newcastle United and their winning streak came to an end.

Allen was the best player out there for Liverpool. And that definitely raises some concerns. Well, if on any given day, Allen is the best player on the pitch, then the coach must have some serious issues to deal with. Klopp did not deny it either. He said that he was happy if the supporters didn’t watch the game as that’s not the way anyone should waste their weekends. Liverpool might have had a comeback in the game and drew level at 1-1, if the linesman was accurate in his decision. A wrong verdict denied the beautiful chip from Moreno. But the Reds boss did not want to be a cry baby and said, “We were playing so s**t that the referee could not believe that we scored a goal.”

To make things worse, it was Martin Skrtel who started the scoring for Newcastle. An own goal from the defender cost the Reds heavily. For the record, he is on the second number in terms of number of own goals scored.

On the other hand relegation threatened Newcastle must feel very happy about their comeback. Dummett and Sissoko were inspirational on the pitch and never allowed Firmino and Benteke enough space to create something. After a disappointing month of November the Newcastle fans can get a ray of hope through this game for sure.

Liverpool vs Newcastle Highlights:

Liverpool had a horrible day at St. James Park, but there is not anything to panic straight away. Benteke needs to finish the tap-ins that he gets every time. If you miss those, you can not expect to win. Firmino and Benteke did not click well and there is no good set piece taker in the squad. There are problems in the squad, but the German gaffer is hopeful to sort out the things.
