Chelsea has lined up Mousa Dembele and Jamie Vardy as targets for the looming winter transfer window.
After a catastrophic start to their title defence, Jose Mourinho’s ailing champions are in desperate need of a mid-season boost.
“The club should make an offer,” said the Stamford Bridge boss when asked about the Spurs midfielder, potentially priced at 20 million pounds. Dembele has been in outstanding form for Tottenham Hotspurs in recent weeks, but Mauricio Pochettino’s team had been willing to sell the player last summer and his long-term future remains uncertain.
Chelsea have Vardy, Liecester’s red-hot striker, among their strikers under consideration for a January move as they seek to solve their problems in front of goal, with Diego Costa having found the net just four times this season.
They have been impressed by Vardy’s work rate but are examining other elements of his game, including whether he could cope with the pressure of performing in their star-studded squad. It is worth mention that Vardy was previously linked with Manchester United too.
In other news, the blues are also making a strong push for 22-year old Boca Juniors forward Jonathan Calleri. According to reports, Inter Milan are also interested in signing up the Argentine and is closely eyeing the developments.
Chelsea is also having talks with Amadou Diawara from Bologna. Though the 18 years old Guinean midfielder is also pursued by many top clubs in Italy, his agent Robert Visan reportedly reached an agreement with Pini Zahavi, who is close to Roman Abramovich.
