Italian legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who is still a reliable name between the sticks at the age of 37, picks some time to name his Champions League Dream XI. Though most of the players in this team played in Italy at some point of their career, Lionel Messi and Iker Casillas are the exceptions.
Despite recent decline in form, Buffon still trusted Iker Casillas to do the honours with the gloves. Fabio Cannavarro and Paolo Maldini were handed the central defending role. Roberto Carlos and Lillian Thuram are the full backs in 4-3-3 formation.
In the midfield, the World Cup winner chose compatriots Pirlo and Gattuso. Czech legend and his former Juventus teammate Pavel Nedved also makes the cut.
Again a great player from Italy, 1994 World Cup hero Roberto Baggio is the first in the forward line. Lionel Messi and Ronaldo Luis Nazario are the two others to join him.
Buffon played his only Champions League final in 2003, which Juve lost his against Milan in penlalties. Through out 20 years of his illustrious career, he never left the Turin club and now is the time for the I Bianconeri to showcase some Champions League magic.
