Steven Gerrard has played sixteen seasons at Liverpool, but his future could take place away from Anfield now that he has an expiring contract.
The club’s coach, Brendan Rodgers, confirmed that the club’s intention is to keep the captain: “The club has offered Steven Gerrard and his entourage an extension. Because of all the time he spent here, 16 years, Steven is a man that deserves maximum respect and time to ponder this option. It certainly won’t be a financial matter, but also a life choice. I have spoken to him about this quite a bit: at the end of the season he deserves the opportunity to ponder it.”
Sports-nova does not yet have much information on probable options that Gerrard has up his sleeve. However, he might consider stepping aside if he does not make into the starting XI in Brendan’s future plans.
The one-club man Steven Gerrard has made 678 appearances for Liverpool so far finding the net 176 times.
