Kingfisher East Bengal crush Police AC 4-1

Kingfisher East Bengal maintained their winning ways and trounced Police AC 4-1 to register their 6th triumph out of 8 matches in Kolkata Premier League at VYBK today. With this win East Bengal climbed up to the second position in the table with 19 points.

Incidentally the match was earlier abandoned due to bad light in mid August with East Bengal leading 1-0 after 70 minutes at the East Bengal/Aryan ground.

Police AC started the game strongly and went ahead in the 2nd minute when Nilkanth Pariya capitalising on a miss pass of Abhishek Das beat the Red and Gold custodian with a stinging shot. East Bengal counterattacked but Police defence particularly their goalkeeper Jhantu Mandal held firm.

East Bengal after missing a number of sitters set things right in a five minute blitzkrieg before the breather.Ranti Martins scored the leveller with a brilliant shot in the 41st minute  of a Subodh Kumar assist. Dudu Omagbemi nodded in the second goal off a Gurwinder Singh assist three minutes later.Dudu again scored with a fine tap in from a perfect cross from Prahlad Roy. East Bengal led 3-1 at half time.

The second half was dominated by East Bengal who completed the scoring with a pile driver from Prahlad Roy in added time.
