We kept ourselves busy with some European actions and the FA Cup fifth round matches for the last few days. But, now the fantasy Premier League managers have to get themselves back in action.

Overview:

Gameweek 27 has slowly arrived and we are in for eight exciting fixtures. West Ham will welcome Sunderland in the curtain raiser while Tottenham vs Swansea and Manchester United vs Arsenal are going to mark the end of the week. The most exciting match of Saturday will take place at St. Mary’s as Southampton and Chelsea are going to face each other. Following is the list of all matches that will be played this week.

Fantasy Premier League managers must aim for the low-hyped matches as they are expected to offer lots of points for the stronger side. Having players from Tottenham, Leicester, West Ham or Stoke City will help a lot. On the other hand, with the goal-scoring spree Chelsea and Manchester United produced of late, it will be wise not to have defenders from Arsenal or Southampton.

One should also keep in mind that two more gameweeks are around the corner, both taking place in the first week of March. So, injury-prone players are probably not the best bets at the moment.

Injury News:

Here are the updates about some important players who got injuries in recent past.

David De Gea: The Manchester United shot-stopper is one of the most popular goalkeepers out there, sitting in 11.1% fantasy premier league teams. He missed the last three United games, but hopefully he will return to the starting eleven against Arsenal.

Chris Smalling: Another popular Manchester United player owned by more than 25% managers, Smalling missed United’s Europa League fixture against Midtjylland. However, he should feature in the important clash on Sunday.

Glenn Johnson: One of the best right backs this season, Johnson suffered a knee injury and it’s still unsure when he will be able to return to action.

Kurt Zouma: It has already been reported that the Chelsea defender will miss the rest of the season. So, one should get rid of him as early as possible.

Danny Simpson: This Leicester City defender saw a red card in the last game and will be out of action till March 1. However, his performances were decent and since he is going to miss only this match, it will be a good idea to keep him in your squad, if you still have him.

Marco Arnautovic: Stoke City talisman is not fully fit and there is a chance that he will miss the fixture against Aston Villa.

Kevin De Bruyne: One of the best signings of the season, this Belgian will not be available before April and so, one should sell him at the earliest.

Wayne Rooney: The Manchester United captain suffered a serious injury after the last match. He has already been ruled out for two months. Naturally, it is wise to buy Diego Costa or Harry Kane in his place.

Harry Kane: He was amongst goals but he has a facial injury at the moment, albeit it is not so serious. There is a 75% chance that he will still be able to make it to the first team against Swansea.

Others: Several other players who will miss this week are Matteo Darmian, Nicolas Otamendi, Jan Vertonghen, James Tomkins, Adam Lallana, James Puncheon, Moussa Dembele, Jordan Ayew and Wilfred Bony.

Fantasy Premier League captain:

It is hard to choose the captain when so many teams have easy fixtures ahead of them. Odion Ighalo, Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Dimitri Payet are the best possible options in our opinion. Stoke City duo Xherdan Shaqiri and Bojan also have the chances to rack up points this week.
